Well, I'm shocked that Nicole didn't mention our favorite Mexican restaurant in Tulsa, Senor Tequila's, of course!! She introduced me to it about four years ago and I'm so glad she did. It's nestled in a shopping center & I probably never would've gone there. The first time we went it was very busy & a festive atmosphere. I don't remember if the mariachi band was playing that night but they do frequent there on weekends, neat costumes & all. They have the absolute best fajitas I've ever had. You have to get the house specialty fajitas, a combo of chicken, steak, shrimp & ribs. The Chili Verde is also wonderful.
Probably the best part of the experience is the tortillas. People who think they've had great tortillas haven't lived until they've had Senor's. At first I wasn't sure about them because they're a little more moist than others, but now they're the gold standard for me. If you like hot salsa, ask for the mother-in-law salsa, it will drive her away for sure! They were actually voted best salsa in town a few years ago. They use white cheese, so the enchiladas are yummy, with a great red sauce. I could go on & on but I'm sure Nicole will add her thoughts. We have a lot of good memories from this place.
The original one is going to be torn down with the widening of I-44, I'll keep you posted about the final days. Luckily they've opened two new ones! If you get the pleasure of meeting Papa while you're there he'll give you a hug & maybe dance with you.
